There are two main types of numbers:
Cardinal Numbers, used mainly for counting.
Examples:
I have two brothers.
My sister is twenty-seven years old.
Our phone number is two-six-three, three-eight-four-seven. (481-2240).
She was born in nineteen seventy-five (1975).
Ordinal Numbers, used mainly for putting things in a sequence.
You can normally create Ordinal numbers by adding -TH to the end of a Cardinal Number.
Examples:
My birthday is on the 27th of January. (Twenty-seventh of January)Liverpool came second in the football league last year.
His office is on the tenth floor.
He had a huge party for his twenty-first birthday.

We also use it to talk about age, feelings, emotions and the weather.
Examples:

Lucy is from Italy. She is Italian
He is from Korea. He is Korean
It is a table
We are hungry
They are happy
